When conceiving this site I toyed with the idea of starting an accompanying podcast. I’ve long been a big fan of the medium and have co-hosted a web focused show with my good friend Kieran since 2013. If you check out the archive you’ll see that we’ve almost sloped off into the ether. I have the utmost respect for those who can produce regularly scheduled programming — however, with work and family commitments we both found it harder to find the time to get behind the mics.
So with all that said I am setting no expectations for regular shows on this site but do feel that it’s something I would like to attempt. Regular, irregular, or batched The Leader of the Packcast (I couldn’t resist) will chat with the people behind the many great travel brands (principally bag brands) and frequent travellers — in other words bag folks and travel hackers.
My hope is to produce 30–40 minute shows that delve into the history of the brands and unearths useful travel hacks we can all benefit from. I already have a number of interesting people lined up and will start recording in June.
The show will be nothing without a premium roster of guests. If you’ve founded, run, or work at a travel-related brand or are that rare unicorn who can fly continuously around the world on points I’d love to hear from you. Everyone has a story and I’d love to hear yours.
If you would like to join me on a future show please do get in touch and let me know more about you, your story, your timezone, and if you need any help setting up for recording. Let’s chat — see you behind the mic soon!
